KODAK Step instant printer review
My verdictThe cheapest pocket printer in the data and one of the most-reviewed: 4.4 from about 20,700 ratings. It prints what the others print, for less up front.

KODAK Step in detail
What it does
The Step connects over Bluetooth or NFC and prints 2 x 3 inch Zink sticky-back photos. The KODAK app handles collages, filters, borders, stickers and text. Kodak’s listing says the built-in battery prints about 25 photos on a full charge, which is enough for a day out but not a party.
The sample behind the score
Several color versions of the Step share one rating on Amazon: 4.4 from about 20,695 ratings. That’s a very large sample and a stable score, so I trust it more than a 4.7 from a few hundred. The black version I feature was sold by Amazon.com on the day of the pull.
Choosing between the three Zink printers
The Step is the cheapest, the Canon IVY 2 has the highest score, and the HP Sprocket 2x3 has the biggest sample. They all print the same size on the same kind of paper. Pick by price and by which app you prefer, and check Zink paper cost per sheet before you buy the printer; paper is where the money goes.
The catches
- 2 x 3 only, Zink quality.
- About 25 prints per charge per Kodak.
- No Zink paper price in my data.

What it costs to run, worked out
Zink paper carries the color, so there is no ink to buy. I don't have a Zink paper price in my data, so I can't give a per-print figure. Divide the pack price by the sheet count when you shop and compare that with the dye-sub and film numbers on this site.
What owners say
Amazon shows 4.4 out of 5 from 20,695 ratings on the listing I feature, which is a large sample. Data pulled Oct 30, 2026. A star average says owners are happy, not why; sort the listing by recent and critical reviews before you buy.
