KODAK Dock Plus 4x6 review

My verdictThe dock idea works: set the phone down, print, and it charges. The largest owner sample of any printer here.

KODAK Dock Plus 4x6 in detail

Why 20,000 ratings matters

The listing shows 4.2 from about 20,100 ratings. Most other printers here are measured in hundreds. A 4.2 on that sample says it’s reliable and unsurprising, which is about the best thing a dye-sub snapshot printer can be.

How printing works

Kodak’s 4PASS process lays three color layers and a clear lamination. Kodak lists about 55 seconds a print and a clear protective layer for fingerprints, water and fading. Pair via Bluetooth with the KODAK Photo Printer app on iOS or Android, or sit the phone in the dock. Check the listing’s compatibility notes for your exact phone and cable.

What a refill costs

Kodak’s PHC-120 refill (cartridges plus 120 sheets) was priced at $59 on the listing I pulled, and the 240-sheet pack at $118. That works out to about 49 cents a print either way, so buying the bigger pack doesn’t save anything per print. Both listings were sold by a third-party seller rather than Kodak or Amazon, and the 240-pack’s own spec table says ‘Refilled’. Confirm the item is Kodak’s before you order. The compatible models named on the listing are the PD450, PD450WIFI, PD460 and PD480.

One more trap: Kodak’s ordinary 4 x 6 inkjet photo paper lists itself as not compatible with Dock printers. Dye-sub needs the matched cartridge and paper.

Phone and cable compatibility

The listing mentions an included Lightning adapter and a USB Type-C port on the printer. Which of those fits your phone depends on the model, so check the compatibility notes on the listing before you rely on the dock. Bluetooth works either way.

Model names

The Dock Plus shows up as the PD460 on the listing. Refills name the PD450, PD450WIFI, PD460 and PD480 as compatible, which is useful if you find a bargain on an older dock.

The catches

  • No built-in screen.
  • Refills run about 49 cents a print, and the listings I found were third-party sellers.
  • Docking compatibility depends on your phone.

What it costs to run, worked out

Dye-sub prints cost the same whatever the picture: about 49c each from the refill packs priced in my data. Ink and paper come together, so there's no cheap-paper lever to pull.

What owners say

Amazon shows 4.2 out of 5 from 20,100 ratings on the listing I feature, which is a large sample. Data pulled Oct 30, 2026. A star average says owners are happy, not why; sort the listing by recent and critical reviews before you buy.
